SnapTure is a full-stack photobooth web application that lets users take photos from their device and apply customizable templates within seconds. Built with Django, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and SQLite, it offers a live photobooth interface where users capture images, choose a layout, and download the final photostrip.
The photobooth
The interactive photobooth page is the core of the platform. It uses the browser's webcam, a countdown timer, and template-positioning logic that arranges each photo automatically into the chosen layout, so users can take multiple shots with minimal setup.
Sharing and the Explore page
Users can upload their photos privately, publicly, or to friends only. Shared uploads appear on the Explore page, where people can browse, like, and comment on photostrips. A Profile page stores each user's full collection, and administrators manage the available templates through the Django admin.
Friends system
Users can create accounts, send and accept friend requests, and view their friends list. It currently works between local accounts but is designed for cloud deployment, and the platform is structured so it can be adapted to a physical photobooth with only modest hardware changes.
